Am I a candidate?
Sculptra is a treatment that is suitable for anyone who wants to improve the appearance of facial wrinkles, folds, and volume loss. It is particularly effective for individuals who have experienced significant volume loss in the cheeks or temple areas.
Which areas can I treat?
Sculptra can be used to improve the appearance of wrinkles and folds in various areas of the face, including the lateral midface cheeks, temples, and lower face. It can also be used to restore volume and contour to the face. It is also used as an alternative to a surgical BBL or implants as a nonsurgical BBL to improve volume in the buttocks.
How long does it take?
The Sculptra treatment typically takes about 45-60 minutes to complete, depending on the area being treated and the amount of Sculptra being used. During the treatment, our experienced practitioner will carefully inject Sculptra into the targeted area to improve the appearance of wrinkles, folds, and volume loss.
Is it painful?
Most patients report that Sculptra treatments are not painful, although some discomfort or mild pain may be experienced during the injection process. We use a topical anesthetic cream and/or ice to numb the area before the injection, ensuring that you are as comfortable as possible throughout the procedure.
What is the recovery time?
Sculptra treatments have minimal downtime and recovery time. You may experience some redness, swelling, or bruising at the injection site for a few days after the treatment. However, you can return to your normal activities immediately after the treatment, although it is recommended that you avoid strenuous activity or exercise for the first 24-48 hours after the treatment. If you are doing the nonsurgical BBL we ask that you refrain from sitting or putting too much pressure on the bottom for 48 hours.
What are the side effects?
Sculptra treatments are considered safe and effective, with minimal side effects. Some patients may experience temporary side effects such as redness, swelling, bruising, or tenderness at the injection site. These side effects typically subside within a few days to a week after the treatment.
